November 5 Sermon

Psa 84:5–6 Pilgrimage thro’ Barren to Beautiful Intro: Psalm 84 by Sons of Korah is a pilgrimage psalm, sung as praise by those who traveled to Jerusalem to worship. Such journeys were often beset with hardship as the traveler moved through the wilderness over great distances in order to reach Jerusalem. It is a cry of desperation. The psalmist yearns to be in Jerusalem, worshiping at the temple in the presence of God’s people: “My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD” Objective: Recognize God’s presence through the desert experiences of our Spiritual pilgrimage (Never drown/die in the valley of Baca but rather PASS Through it with GRACE.
